Investigative Reporting on Iowa Public Radio’s talk program River to River

Using the peg of the Academy Award nomination for the film Spotlight, we’ll talk with representatives of investigative journalism organizations, and journalists in Iowa about the challenges of doing this kind of work and whether there is likely to be a spike in interest in investigative journalism as a result of the attention received by the film.

Which news organizations still do this kind of work? What has been the result? Does the public still want this kind of reporting? Do they still trust journalists/local media organizations to do it?

The program is hosted by Ben Kieffer. Guests include Lyle Muller (Executive Director-Editor, IowaWatch), Jason Clayworth (investigative reporter for The Des Moines Register), and Andy Hall (Executive Director of Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism).
