The Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism’s IowaWatch Connection radio program and podcast introduces you to a former Des Moines Register featured writer, Jane Schorer Meisner, whose frank, groundbreaking report on the rape of an Iowa woman won the newspaper the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service: Meisner’s interview with a woman who had been raped but who also was willing to be named in a Des Moines Register story caused a stir in 1990. The story made some uncomfortable, but led to a change in how we think of rape and other assaults. The program airs on 21 radio stations over the weekends of March 25-27 and April 1-3 and is available for download as a podcast after it airs.
