In recognition of the centennial celebration of the Pulitzer Prize, Baylor University’s Journalism, Public Relations and New Media department is hosting a lecture given by Austin American-Statesman Metro Columnist and reporter Ken Herman.

In 1977 the Lufkin Daily News was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for reporting by Herman and his colleague Joe Murray that led to reform in the recruiting and training practices of the United States Marine Corps.

Herman will share his experience covering the story that led to the award, and discuss the current state of journalism.
