Journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to be Augustana's 2019 BOE Speakers

Augustana University has announced that Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein will be the university 2019 Boe Forum speakers, set to take place on March 19, 2019. The forum's theme this year is "Power, the Press, and the Presidency."

Woodward and Bernstein were instrumental in the awarding of the 1973 Pulitzer Prize Public Service award to the Washington Post. Woodward and Bernstein jointly investigated the Watergate scandal and were essential figures in its breaking to the public. Woodward and Bernstein have both since led long careers in journalism. Woodward continues to work at the Washington Post and has published 13 New York Times Bestsellers. Bernstein is a regular contributor to CNN and similarly has published many New York Times Bestsellers, specifically focusing on the abuse of power. 

The Boe Forum of Public Affairs has, since its creation in 1995, aimed to address current political issues and situations of national interest in an accessible capacity.
