Next to Normal
"Next to Normal" takes the stage at the Eisenhower Theater from January 29, 2020 until February 3, 2020.

Michael Greif, original director of the Broadway production, reclaims the helm of "Next to Normal" during its upcoming run in D.C. The musical won three Tony awards and the 2010 Prize in Drama for its compelling use of rock music to explore mental illness that expanded the bounds of subject matter in musical theater. Rachael Bay Jones ("Dear Evan Hansen") and Brandon Victor Dixon ("Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert," "Shuffle Along") have been announced as leading cast members, with further updates to come.

Of the revival, Grief said he is "thrilled to get the opportunity to reinvestigate Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's groundbreaking musical, especially with the inspiring actors Rachel Bay Jones and Brandon Victor Dixon." He further elaborated his excitement at bringing the show to D.C. "I know the smart, sophisticated audiences there will once again, a decade later, help me understand the musical even more deeply."
