North Dakota Newspaper Association Convention

Hosted by the North Dakota Newspaper Association

Three Pulitzer winners will comprise a panel that will discuss what it takes to provide Pulitzer-quality newspaper reporting. They then will make individual presentations describing their Pulitzer-winning projects and offering instruction related to developing skills like those for which they were recognized.

Presenters include Mike Jacobs, who was editor and publisher of the Grand Forks Herald when it won a 1998 Pulitzer for Local Reporting for coverage of a flood that devastated the city; Jacqui Banaszynski, who was a reporter at the St. Paul Pioneer Press when her series “AIDS in the Heartland” won a 1988 Pulitzer for feature writing; and Bill Frakes, whose photography contributed to the Miami Herald’s 1993 Pulitzer for Meritorious Public Service for coverage of Hurricane Andrew.
