Photographer Bob Jackson on the Assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald
Photographer Robert Jackson will speak on his lifelong photography career in his presentation "Robert Jackson-From 'The Shot' to the Pulitzer" at Manitou Springs City Hall on Nov. 10.
Having shot one of the most iconic images of the 20th century, Jackson won the Pulitzer in 1964 for his incidental photograph that captured the exact moment of the assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man suspected of assassinating John F. Kennedy, while Oswald was being transported from a county jail. At the time, Jackson was working for the Dallas Times Herald. Jackson will speak on this fateful day and the events that followed; the presentation also accompanies an exhibition of Jackson's other work.
A signing of Jackson's book on the famous photograph, The Shot, will follow the event.
