The Pulitzer Prize at 100: The Photographers: Remembering 9/11

Hosted by the Newseum

On the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, New York Times photographers Ruth Fremson and Angel Franco talk about the newspaper’s coverage which resulted in multiple Pulitzer Prizes in 2002, including the photography staff’s Pulitzer for breaking news photography.

The Pulitzer board specifically recognized the Times photography staff for “its consistently outstanding photographic coverage of the terrorist attack on New York City and its aftermath.”

Fremson has been a staff photographer for the Times since 2000 and Franco has been a Times photographer since 1986.
