Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County to be performed in Lead
More than a dozen Gold Camp Players community theatre actors will present the Pulitzer Prize-winning play August: Osage County by Tracy Letts on March 4, 5 and 11, 12, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. and March 6 and 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. on the stage of the Historic Homestake Opera House at 313 W. Main Street, Lead, SD.
The play, directed by Rose Speirs with assistant director, Lee Ann Paananen features the largest set design the Gold Camp Players volunteer theatre group has built.
The story surrounds a vanished father, a pill-popping mother, and three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets.
