Pulitzer on the Road in Jackson, Mississippi: On King & Floyd

In partnership with the Mississippi Book Festival

Pulitzer on the Road came to Jackson for the Mississippi Book Festival on Saturday September 14, 2024, where Pulitzer Prize-winning authors and journalists discussed their work at two different events.

Martin Luther King Jr. and George Floyd: Award Winning Biographies

2024 Biography winner Jonathan Eig (author of King: A Life) and 2023 General Nonfiction winner Robert Samuels (journalist and co-author with Toluse Olorunnipa of His Name is George Floyd) were in conversation with historian and Pulitzer Board member Kelly Lytle Hernández about their books on two men whose lives are forever connected to major movements in American history.

The Pulitzer on the Road event on Investigative Journalism, featuring 2023 Local Reporting winner Anna Wolfe, 2024 Local Reporting finalist Jerry Mitchell, and 2024 Investigative Reporting contributor Brody Mullins, can be found here.

We are grateful to the Mississippi Book Festival for filming these events, and to their photographer, Drew Dempsey. Both events were held in the Old Supreme Court Room in the State Capitol Building in Jackson, Mississippi. For more information, visit the Mississippi Book Festival website.
