Pulitzer on the Road in Los Angeles at the L.A. Times Festival of Books

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, the Pulitzer Prizes hosted a cross-genre conversation at the L.A. Times Festival of Books between playwright Sanaz Toossi, and authors Viet Thanh Nguyen and Héctor Tobar, at the Hancock Foundation Building on University of Southern California's campus.

From a memoir of refugeehood and colonization, fatherhood and identity; to a dramatization of a group of Iranian students learning English and exploring the link between language, personality, and relationships; and a definitive and personal exploration of what it means to be Latino in the United States right now, these multifarious works stand at the vanguard of contemporary literary culture.

2016 Fiction winner and Pulitzer Board member Viet Thanh Nguyen talked about his new memoir, A Man of Two Faces.

2023 Drama winner Sanaz Toossi discussed her award-winning play, English, which will be produced on Broadway later in 2024.

1993 Spot News Reporting staff contributor and three-time Pulitzer juror Héctor Tobar talked about his new nonfiction book, Our Migrant Souls, A Meditation on Race and the Meanings and Myths of Latino.

Nguyen, Toossi and Tobar were in conversation with Pulitzer Administrator Marjorie Miller.
