Pulitzer on the Road in Phoenix: Podcast Launch with Caitlin Dickerson and John Archibald
On Monday, March 25, 2024, the Pulitzer Prizes launched the first season of its official podcast, Pulitzer on the Road, with a live event in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism of Arizona State University. The event was produced in collaboration with Arizona PBS.
On stage for the event were 2023 Explanatory Reporting winner Caitlin Dickerson, a staff writer at The Atlantic, and 2023 Local Reporting and 2018 Commentary winner John Archibald, a reporter and columnist for AL.com. They were joined by podcast producer Nicole Carroll, a Pulitzer Board member, Cronkite School professor of practice and executive director of the ASU Local Journalism Initiative. Pulitzer Prize Administrator Marjorie Miller moderated the event.
This event was part of the ongoing Pulitzer on the Road series, bringing conversations with Pulitzer Prize winners and nominated finalists to audiences around the country.
Dickerson and Archibald discussed the stories behind their winning reporting from 2023, how journalists build trust with their sources, business models in journalism today and how they started their careers as journalists.
The panel was presented in collaboration with ASU's Cronkite School and Arizona PBS.
