'The Road Most Traveled: Causes and Consequenses of Illegal Immigration,' with Don Bartletti
The New Mexico Humanities Council will host Don Bartletti, winner of the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography, at the Rio Grande Theatre on Oct. 3. Bartletti will give a presentation titled, "The Road Most Traveled: Causes and Consequenses of Illegal Immigration."
Bartletti won the prize in 2003 for his work, originally published in the Los Angeles Times, documenting the journey of Central American youth as they attempt to flee to the United States. Bartletti, now retired, worked at the Los Angeles Times for more than 30 years and was also a prize finalist in 2015.
Much of Bartletti's work focuses on the impact of migration across the southern border of the U.S. and within Mexico. He will discuss his career in photojournalism and the changes he has witnessed in border policy and conflicts over the years.
