Prize-winning Ruined will open at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University's Paul Robeson Theatre on Oct. 18.

Written by Lynn Nottage, Ruined won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for its extremely honest depiction of cruelty and brutality in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the nation's civil war

The play centers around Mama Nadi, the owner of a brothel whose women have suffered at the hands of soldiers and the political instability of the time. Nottage shares the story of these women and their experiences. The run at A&T will feature actresses Alex Albritton, Christina Campbell, Anderlyn Smith, Asha Duniani, and Kaliah DeBerry.

Nottage also won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017 for her play Sweat.
