'Sweat' and 'Fairview' Featured in Trinity Rep's 2020-21 Season
Trinity artistic director Curt Columbus announced the 2020-21 season, a mix of shows rescheduled from the current season and new selections.
"Sweat" by Lynn Nottae was canceled in the 2019-20 season due to coronavirus concerns but will now be performed this fall. Set in the Rust Belt, this show examines the decline of American manufacturing and what happens to the working-class people whose lives depend on it.
"Fairview" by Jackie Sibblies Drury is a new selection for the 2020-21 season. It is a stunning family comedy that veers in unexpected directions. Columbus calls it "the sleeper hit of the year" and commends its "interrogation of the white gaze, or how whites look at plays like 'Fairview.'"
