UPike, Pett & Pulitzer

Hosted by Kentucky Humanities Council

2000 Pulitzer Prize winner for editorial cartooning, Joel Pett, will be the featured guest speaker Booth Auditorium on the campus of the University of Pikeville.

Prior to Mr. Pett's appearance, attendees will be able to walk through a traveling art display featuring numerous editorial cartoons penned by Pett including his Pulitzer award-winning pieces.  Mr. Pett will not only address what winning the Pulitzer has meant to his career in editorial cartooning at the Lexington Herald Leader, but offer his insights on events and issues that have changed the landscape and mindsets of his readers on a national, statewide and local level.

A question & answer session with the audience will follow Mr. Pett's remarks and the University will host a brief post-event reception as well.

This event is part of a signature event called "The Kentucky Humanities Council presents The Kentucky Book Fair." Pulitzer prize-winners, Joel Pett (2000 Pulitzer winner for editorial cartooning) and Maria Henson (1992 Pulitzer winner for editorial writing) will be featured speakers during this two-day event.  For more information about The Kentucky Book Fair, please visit  https://www.kyhumanities.org/kentuckybookfair.html
