As a part of the Pulitzer Prize Centennial national celebration, on Monday, March 21st, the Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School will be hosting a Campfire Plus event with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. The two will be speaking with students from Rangel and the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy who currently study Journalism and AP Human Geography in a seminar at the Rangel library from 1:30 - 2:45pm. Kristof and WuDunn will also be honored as Posey Leadership Award recipients the following day at Austin College in Sherman, Texas.

Lynn Womble, Austin College Director of Public Affairs, made the arrangements for them to come to Irma Lerma Rangel on the afternoon of March 21, and it was the honorees' express wish that they meet with both boys and girls in a small group to discuss issues that they write about and document in films: women and children who are exploited, war and genocide, human trafficking, and other human rights and social justice issues.

This seminar is also being coordinated through the Pulitzer Prize Centennial Campfire Initiative, where Pulitzer Prize winners gather groups to learn about "the values represented by Pulitzer-Prize winning work."
