Doris Kearns Goodwin will be a featured presenter at HISTORYCon in April. She has lauded the convention's mission of "making history accessible to new audiences in new ways." HISTORYCon brings together panels and interactive exhibits that feature fan-favorite television stars (such as Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars) and world-renowned historians. The convention celebrates the channel's 25th anniversary with this "natural extension of [its] programming" that will excite "the most hardcore history-enthusiasts" and newcomers to the channel alike.

Doris Kearns Goodwin won the 1995 Prize in History for her book "No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II." She since has penned multiple bestsellers on past presidents and currently serves as executive producer on History's upcoming docudrama "Washington."

On the lasting importance of HISTORYCon, Goodwin leaves us with the following: "History is full of fascinating stories — the more we inspire people to examine and explore them, the better equipped we all are to use the lessons of the past to inform our collective future."
