Edna Ferber
Edna Ferber won a 1925 Prize for her novel So Big (Bettmann/Corbis).

Katie Stilp, local history librarian at Appleton Public Library, transformed a presentation on notable women in Appleton, Wisc.'s history into an extended exhibition on display until the end of March, Women's History Month. The exhibit spotlights 20 women from the 19th century to present day who have impacted Appleton and beyond with their talent and resilience. Bolstered by library photos and archives, the pop-up exhibit also includes a panel on researching the women in one's own family tree with library resources.

Edna Ferber is one of the women featured in the exhibition and in Shane Nyman's Post-Crescent article previewing it. Ferber won the 1925 Prize in Novel (category re-named Fiction in 1947) with her seminal text "So Big."
