Hosted by the Public Theater's Mobile Unit National

The Public Theater's Mobile Unit National will open its Minnesota run of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Sweat on Oct. 11.

The Mobile Unit National has been performing 'Sweat' on the road in cities like New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. The company will next head to Minnesota and will finish the run in Wisconsin on Oct. 23. Within Minnesota, the company will visit St. Cloud, Mankato, and Rochester. The first show will take place at the Centenary United Methodist Church. The Mobile Unit aims to make theater accessible to people by bringing productions to local community centers for free.

'Sweat,' written by Lynn Nottage, won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017 and tells the story of a working-class community in Reading, Penn. The play explores the persistence and unraveling of the American dream. Michael Schulman of The New Yorker wrote, "The first theatrical landmark of the Trump Era: Lynn Nottage's play Sweat is a tough yet empathetic portrait of the America that came undone."

The shows are free and open to the public. To find out more information, click here.
