Hosted by Florida International University

In honor of the centennial anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize, the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the Miami Herald and Florida International University team up to present an educational, informative and entertaining panel with recent South Florida Pulitzer Prize winners.

The forum offers a unique opportunity for students and  the public to hear firsthand how these outstanding professionals got the story and the photos that captured a Pulitzer Prize.

The panel features Sun Sentinel Investigative reporter Sally Kestin and Database editor John Maines, the team that produced ‘Speeding Cops’, winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize Gold Medal for Public Service, and Miami Herald photographer Patrick Farrell and Caribbean correspondent Jacqueline Charles, whose work resulted in Farrell's 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Feature photography in Haiti.

The panel will be moderated by Sun Sentinel Editor Howard Saltz and Miami Herald Managing Editor Rick Hirsch. It’s supported by funds from FIU’s Hearst Foundation Distinguished Lecture Series.
